Controversy

Hlophe was pulled off air by Gagasi FM in December 2025 after a viral video of a heated Christmas Eve dispute with his wife, Tracy, because he paid lobola for a second wife surfaced.

The Durban-based radio station placed him on a two-week break from his morning drive show, The Uprising, after the incident made Tracy flee their home with their children to seek refuge at a neighbour’s house.

Hlophe, who was accompanied by his mother-in-law, went to fetch his wife and children. He later publicly apologised, agreeing that emotions ran high on all sides and there was confrontation, but no physical violence.

After completing Gagasi FM’s process, he was officially reinstated and returned behind the microphone on 19 January 2026.

Personal Life

In 2018, Felix Hlophe married his first wife, Tracy Smith-Hlophe, after dating her for two years. He has two children with Tracy, named Nala and Amile, and four children outside his marriage.

He married his second wife, Ayanda Bhengu, after paying lobola on 14 December 2025. They had previously had a turbulent period that led to their breakup in 2024.
