Allie worked for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Talk Radio 702, and eNews Channel Africa (eNCA). She has also served as the spokesperson for the transport ministry.

Ayanda Allie was born on 30 July 1986 in Dobsonville, Soweto, South Africa. She grew up as the third of four daughters. Her mother worked as a nurse before becoming a housewife, and her father started out in security before becoming a taxi owner.
Education
Ayanda Allie matriculated from Allen Glen High School in 2004. She completed a BA Degree in Communication Science at the University of South Africa in 2009. She holds an honours degree in development studies and a Master’s degree in public administration.
Career
Allie worked as a news anchor on Rainbow FM in 2006 and as an Advertising Coordinator and Content Producer at Now Media in 2007.
She worked as a news anchor and traffic reporter for Talk Radio 702 from 2008 to 2010, and a news anchor for eNews Channel Africa (eNCA) from 2010 to 2013.
Allie moved to SABC News to host Morning Live, leaving eNCA in 2013. She hosted the seventh annual Crown Gospel Music Awards, alongside Thabo Mdluli in 2014. She has also worked as a producer and presenter for SABC 2’s Morning Live.
She hosted the SABC2 talk show Visionaries’ Lounge in 2015 and the eNCA morning show Weekend Wake Up in 2017. She was also a co-anchor of a riveting breakfast show on Power FM.
She co-hosted the Power Breakfast alongside Lawrence Tlhabane until 2016 and also presented the show Ke Zaka on SABC 2.
Aside from media, Ayanda is also a sought-after Master of Ceremonies and Debate Facilitator. She has directed programs for clients such as the South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAS), Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), Tiso Foundation, the Department of Basic Education, Discovery Health Journalist Awards, South African National Editors’ Science Journalist Awards, and Vodacom Journalist of the Year Awards, among others.
Ayanda Allie is a Mandela Washington Fellow and Poynter Institute for Media Studies Fellow. She appeared on the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans.
She is an ambassador for Pandora’s Love South Africa charm and one of the leading ladies for the Hyundai Creta Light the Way campaign. She is also a Trustee for the Spur Foundation and worked as a sessional lecturer at the Wits School of Governance.
Ayanda Allie served as the spokesperson to former minister Fikile Mbalula in 2019. She joined the political party Build One South Africa (Bosa) in 2024. She served as the party’s communications director.
In June 2024, she was sworn in as a Gauteng member of the provincial legislature (MPL). However, Bosa terminated her membership following an internal disciplinary process in 2026.
Ayanda Allie has also ventured into music as a recording artist under the name Ms. Allie. She has released her first album, “We The People.”
In 2023, she published her book, “How To Save A Life – Reflections Of A Change Agent”. She is the founder of Bukho Bami Youth Centre, which provides academic help to teenagers in underprivileged communities.
Personal Life
Ayanda Allie married Matthew in 2006, and they have children. On 12 August 2021, she asked to be addressed as Ayanda-Allie instead of Ayanda-Allie Paine.
Imanuweli Mzingeli joined Eyaziwa in 2026. He holds a degree in Political Science from a prestigious university. Outside of his storytelling work, he enjoys reading and video games.
